Rye Coalition for Change
The Rye Coalition for Change is made up of members from the Rye community who want to hold Rye to the highest standards and educate the community about diversity, inclusion, mental health, and more.
Our mission is to implement change in the policies and practices of Rye City’s school district, police department, and local government in order to address the systemic discrimination and identity-based injustices and to better community relations.

About
The Rye Coalition for Change was founded in June 2020, after Amanda Yannett and Cristiana Villani organized the town's Black Lives Matter march. Pretty quickly, this singular moment in our town's history evolved into a full-fledged movement. Our Social Movement challenges the status quo, holding our leaders accountable and fighting for solutions that will transform society.
Our Committees
Driven to make an impact and inspire change, our coalition is working to develop positive solutions in order to create a more equitable, inclusive, and just community. Learn more about our focus below.

Education
We aim to ensure that the education system and school spaces are inclusive and nondiscriminatory, along with advocating and supporting anyone feeling as though the system is failing them.

LGBTQIA+
We are dedicated to promoting visibility, acceptance, and rights of the LGBTQIA+ community both on and off school campuses, in addition to encouraging local official leaders to provide support.
